Property Owners can now obtain an independent, third-party valuation for each woody tree and shrub on their property. The valuations are presented in the HMI Horticultural Assessment and may be used to determine adequate insurance coverage for horticultural assets as well as to document assets prior to or following a casualty loss. In addition to the valuations, the Assessment includes the Michael Dirr Plant Guide with individual plant descriptions, color photographs, and care and maintenance instructions to help you manage and protect your valuable assets. It is the only horticultural reference source with customized instructions for fertilization, pruning and general maintenance for a specific plant on a specific property.
Property Owners Suffering Casualty Losses can now obtain current plant replacement valuations as documentation for tax and insurance purposes. The valuations are presented in the HMI Summary Report. Please be advised that HMI does not give tax advice. Please consult your tax professional to determine if you may benefit from an HMI Assessment. For additional information, you may want to consult www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p2194.pdf
