HMI’s core product - the HMI Horticultural Assessment - offers many green industry suppliers with a unique offering that will distinguish their services from all others. The Assessment provides your customers with a customized “owner’s manual” that describes the individual plants in their landscapes and how to properly care for them. Complete with full color photographs and a plant guide authored by renowned horticulturist Dr. Michael A. Dirr, the Assessment is a very high quality product that your customers will keep and likely share with their friends and neighbors.
In addition, each Assessment provides your customers with the current through 5-year replacement values for each plant assessed. The replacement values not only demonstrate that plants clearly increase in value over time, but they can also be used by your customer for insurance or tax purposes in case of a loss.
MEMBER: All green industry professionals who are members of ANLA, APLD, ASHS, ASLA, PLANET, ASCA, ISA, and TCIA can set up an HMI member account and perform horticultural assessments for their clients. There is no fee for this membership. No training is required. Assessments can either be completed online or by downloading, completing, and faxing or e-mailing the Horticultural Assessment Agreement to HMI. Click Member Account and follow the instructions to set up an HMI member account.
Benefits: HMI can print on each Assessment your company’s logo and contact information, which will then formally link your company with this high quality product.
AUTHORIZED MEMBER: Green industry professionals who have completed HMI’s training program can set up an HMI member account and perform horticultural assessments for their clients. There is no fee for this membership although there is a fee for the training program. Assessments can either be completed online or by downloading, completing and faxing or e-mailing the Horticultural Assessment Agreement to HMI. Click Training Program to learn more about program requirements and offerings.
Benefits: Assessments completed by Authorized Members are identified with an HMI certification seal. Only Certified HMI Assessments can be used to support insurance, tax, realtor and other applications. HMI may refer leads to Authorized Members in areas where there is no Premier Level Member agreement in place. In addition, HMI can print on each Assessment your company’s logo and contact information, which will then formally link your company with this high quality product.
PREMIER LEVEL MEMBER (PLM): PLMs are green industry professionals who have acquired a PLM Agreement from HMI to provide specific services in a defined territory to support HMI’s insurance, tax, realtor or other applications. All PLMs will have at least 1 staff assessor who has undergone HMI’s training program. In addition, each PLM will be able to support a number of products and services including site assessments, landscape maintenance, remediation and others. PLMs as well can set up an HMI member account and perform horticultural assessments for their clients. PLM Agreements have an initial and annual renewal fee. Click Premier Level Member to learn more about membership requirements and fees.
Benefits: PLMs have priority for lead referrals from HMI to fulfill Assessments and other related services for insurance, tax, realtor or other customers in a defined territory. PLMs also receive discounts of up to 20% on Assessments sold outside the referral system. Assessments completed by PLM members are co-branded products with the PLM’s logo and HMI certification seal prominently displayed. The initial PLM agreement fee includes training for up to two staff members. In addition, PLMs are recognized on HMI’s Web site as a PLM and leading industry supplier.
